Sydney offers an assortment of public transportation options to simplify travel in and around the city including:
• Trains, light rail, and monorail
• Sightseeing and private buses
• Taxis and water taxis
The extensive network of trains and public transportation provides those in Sydney and its surrounds with many choices when it comes to travelling or sightseeing. Services are reliable and extend to both inner city locations and suburbs.
To simplify and streamline travel and encourage Sydneysiders and visitors alike to use the more eco-friendly and affordable public transport system, Sydney has introduced MyZone. MyZone is an integrated public transportation system that covers Sydney and Newcastle buses, Metro Light Rail, CityRail, Sydney Ferries, and private buses and provides commuters and travellers with a cheaper, greener, easier way to travel around Sydney.
Tickets and discounts are standardised through MyZone, and with the purchase of a single ticket called the MyMulti, people can switch services whenever needed or desired. That means shorter stopping times, less queuing, and a system that runs smoothly and quickly.
There are four different MyMulti ticket options, giving riders the option of travelling within a specific area of Sydney or throughout the entire city.
The first MyMulti ticket grants unlimited travel by government and private bus, light rail, and government ferry and covers the following CityRail stations:
• Bondi Junction
• Bardwell Park
The second MyMulti option allows the same unlimited travel to the following stations:
• Seven Hills
The third MyMulti option provides for unlimited CityRail and light rail access, government ferry, and unlimited government and private bus use.
The fourth MyMulti option is the single DayPass, providing unlimited use of the public transportation system across the city, including all government and private buses, government ferries, and light rail for one day.
MyMulti tickets are available for single day use, weekly use, monthly or 28-day use, quarterly or 90-day use, and yearly use. Daily and weekly passes range from $20 to $57 dollars for unlimited trips in and around the city. Child tickets are half price.
